Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:
1. Personal Care:
– Assist clients with personal hygiene, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
– Support clients with mobility and transfers, ensuring safe handling techniques.
– Help with feeding and monitor dietary needs.

2. Household Assistance:
– Prepare and serve nutritious meals according to dietary requirements.
– Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as laundry, tidying the living area, and making beds.
– Assist with grocery shopping and running errands as needed.

3. Companionship and Emotional Support:
– Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities that promote mental and emotional well-being.
– Offer emotional support and encourage positive social interactions.

4. Health Monitoring and Reporting:
– Monitor and record clients’ vital signs and health changes, reporting any concerns to the supervising nurse.
– Document care provided and maintain accurate client records.

5. Compliance and Safety:
– Follow all safety and infection control protocols.
– Maintain client confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
– Participate in quality improvement initiatives and training.

Qualifications:
– Current Home Health Aide (HHA) certification in Michigan.
– High school diploma or equivalent.
– Minimum of 1 year of experience in home health or a similar setting.
– Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to lift and/or move clients and equipment.
